Youth Collective

 Join our Youth Collective in 2023!

Get creative, program fun events for other young people at Tweed Regional Gallery. Meet twice fortnightly to program one event per term. Open to people aged 13 - 19.

What will you be doing? Meeting with like-minded, creative young people at the gallery to discuss and plan the event. You and your peers will host the event. The event will be held at the Gallery. It will be a creative and fun event for 13 - 19 year olds.

How often will we meet up? Up to fortnightly in term time. You will meet up on a Friday afternoon at the gallery for an afternoon tea, creative brainstorm, discussion and planning workshop. This will include artmaking and design thinking techniques.

When will the event be? It will be in the first half of 2023, on a Friday night, dates to be confirmed in 2023.

What will you get out of it? A certificate of participation in the Gallery Youth Collective. Experience in collaboration and creative planning. Meeting like-minded peers, making friends. Developing new skills in the arts sector and having a platform to express yourself.

Educators Evening

 Educators Evening August 16, 2023.  Meet, mix and mingle with other educators from the region, view exhibitions on display and enjoy some delicious refreshments. Meet artist Jacquie Stockdale and hear about her show, The Offering. Discover more about education programs for students and teachers, the education resources you can utilise and how staff can help you plan a rewarding and enjoyable visit to the gallery with your students. This event is suited to primary, secondary and tertiary educators and will contain information on programs for varied stages. Art enrichment

Full day art intensives provide a unique opportunity for secondary age visual arts students to gain insight into the practice and creative processes of artists who are exhibiting at the Gallery.

This program includes a talk by the facilitating artist, group discussion and opportunities to develop new skills and techniques.

Inclusive programs

The Art & Dementia Friends program supports people living with dementia and their carers to reconnect with their sense of identity by responding to and creating art.

Participants will meet in 2023 on February 22, April 26, June TBC, August 23 and October 25 between 10 - 11:30 am for this special shared experience within the beautiful environment of the Gallery and its surrounds. To book contact galleryeducation@tweed.nsw.gov.au to book.
