Last Sunday every month | 1 pm – 4:30 pm
Anne Smerdon hosts monthly long-format portrait painting sessions. These untutored sessions provide a relaxed environment for participants to work from life in the company of other artists. To celebrate the Gallery’s collection exhibition Mirror-view: Artists by Artists, your sitter will be an artist from our region.
Each session includes a 3-hour long pose. Artists bring their own materials and can book and pay for each session separately but be quick – these sessions will sell out fast!

Join award-winning artist Gerwyn Davies and the iconic Courtney Act for an In Conversation exploring Davies’ art practice and solo show Sunburn at the Tweed Regional Gallery. This time we are taking the artist out of the Gallery and making a night of it at the Regent Cinema, Murwillumbah.
Some people just know how to ask the right questions. For one night only Courtney Act will interview celebrated Australian artist Gerwyn Davies whose practice skilfully combines costume-making and photography. Davies stages elaborate self-portraits with extravagant costumes set against surreal backdrops that employ camp aesthetics to disrupt dominant modes of representation. Grab a drink and some popcorn, find your seat and enjoy the show.
