Tweed Regional Gallery Foundation Gala with guest artist Ben Quilty

Join us as we celebrate the acquisition of the Archibald prize winning portrait Margaret Olley 2011 and a new suite of still life paintings by Ben Quilty. This event will also raise funds for the Tweed Regional Gallery Foundation Ltd. to support future acquisitions, exhibitions and programs at the Gallery.

Gala only ticket: $45, from 6 pm 
Venue: TRG & MOAC
Dress code: Loungewear

Annual Community Picnic & Artist Paint Out
FREE

  • Sunday 29 June 2025 | 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Bring the whole family along to this popular annual event in the grounds of the Tweed Regional Gallery. Enjoy live music, free art activities for kids and make your own artwork en plein air inspired by spectacular views of Wollumbin and the Tweed River.

Guest artist Hobie Porter will make work in response to the stunning landscape and be on hand to mentor artists and chat with visitors. Children and families can explore cultural connections to place, create artworks with artist Jason King and learn to weave with artist Kyra Togo. Live music performed on the day by CJ Shaw and Rachel by the Stream.

So pack your picnic basket, a blanket and your paints and join us for an inspiring day of art, music, connection and community. No bookings required.

Artist Paint Out: Artists are invited to come along and set up to work en plein air overlooking the stunning Tweed River and Wollumbin – more information.

Guest artist: Hobie Porter.

Children and families' activities: Painting and drawing will be facilitated by local artist Jason King and weaving by Kyra Togo.

Music: CJ Shaw 2–3:30 pm and Rachel by the Stream 3:30–5 pm.
