The Gallery’s inclusive programs provide specialised arts programs that engage diverse audiences with Gallery exhibitions, events and the collection.

Deaf and hard of hearing visitors

FREE: Culture with Auslan in Murwillumbah - for Deaf & hard of hearing visitors. 

Make a day of it and join free Auslan-interpreted tours for deaf and hard of hearing visitors at both the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre and Tweed Regional Museum.  

Experience highlights of exhibitions at each cultural institution with Gallery and Museum staff and interpreters from Auslan Stage Left. 

Time spent at each venue will be approximately one hour.  

Saturday 11 May 2024 (Autumn)  

10:30 am – 11:30 am Tweed Regional Museum  

Auslan guided tour of: Omnia

Break and Travel 11.30 am – 12.30 pm  

12:30 – 1:30pm Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre 

Auslan guided tour of: A Delicate Terrain & Natura Morta (Still Life), 1956 by Giorgio Morandi

Saturday 24th August 2024 (Winter)  

10:30 am – 11:30 am Tweed Regional Museum  

Auslan guided tour of: Land / Life / Culture

Break and Travel 11.30 am – 12.30 pm  

12:30 – 1:30pm Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art

Auslan guided tour of:  Know My Name & A Dictionary for Painting: Margaret Olley, Keith Burt, Robert Malherbe.Access: Parking available at each venue.

Access at the Gallery: Accessible Parking, lift access from ground level carpark to entrance, wheelchair available on request. Email tweedart@tweed.nsw.edu.au

Art and dementia care

Upcoming: Art & Dementia Program

Participants will explore exhibitions and create artworks using sight, touch and smell in a dementia care program designed to stimulate connection and discussion. Next session 29th November.
